Our New Year’s Eve service was an all-age event looking back at the highs and lows of 2017 and looking forward to the coming year.
People wrote down one good thing from 2017, which we used in our prayers of thanks. There was space for people to bring their sorrows to the foot of the Cross as Michael Card’s song “Come, lift up your sorrows” played in the background.
Dave spoke about resolutions for the New Year for us as church: sharing the message, strengthening the believers and serving the community, all to the glory of God. He encouraged each of us to pick one of these to focus over the coming months.
We finished the service in party style with a conga round the church, singing “Pressing On” by Doug Horley.
