‘Places of Welcome’ are run by local community groups who want everyone in their neighbourhood to have a place to go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it.
‘Places of Welcome’ is a national initiative and there are now over 350 community groups across the UK. The idea is that everyone in their neighbourhoods should have a place to go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it. We thought how great it would be to open one in Hertford, so we did just that in September 2019!
Every Wednesday between 10 am – 12 noon, our church hall is open with the kettle on and anyone is welcome to drop in for a free cuppa, a chat and cake! We provide the space so you can connect with one another and have someone to chat to. The sessions really are open to everyone and anyone who fancies popping in for a natter.
Wednesdays 10 am – 12 noon – come and join with 30 or so others who pop in. We look forward to seeing you!
Here’s what people are saying about our Place of Welcome:
“It’s lovely, on my way into town to do my shopping I call in – there is always someone to pass the time of day with.”
“I always feel better when I leave than when I walked in.”
“I’ve made a new friend today.”
