At Hertford Baptist Church we aim to create a space and environment that is fully accessible to everyone. We have a number of facilities to enable this:
An accessible ramp is located at the side / Chambers Street entrance to the church, and, in case of an emergency, we have a removable ramp for the main church entrance. We have removed a front pew to allow easier access and we encourage people to leave the front row for those less mobile so that they can be part of the worshipping community.
The church sanctuary has a hearing induction loop installed for those with a hearing impairment. In addition to this, at some services, we are assisted by a BSL Registered Sign Language Interpreter. Should there be a particular request for the services of a BSL interpreter, then, in the first instance, please contact the church office to check on availability.
We have large print song books available and have, within the church sanctuary, six large screens so all in the congregation can have clear sight of the screens.
In 2015, we were delighted that ‘Prospects’ recognised Hertford Baptist Church as a ‘Learning Disability Friendly Church’.
