On Sunday 21 st July Re:fresh, a discipleship group for young people, travelled to
the beach!
Five leaders and eighteen young people left Hertford at 9:00am and arrived at
Walton-on-the-Naze around 11:00am. It wasn’t long before towels had been
rolled out, a music speaker switched on, spades digging and both leaders and
young people enjoying the relative warmth of the North Sea!
After almost completely burying one of the young people and turning them
into a Mermaid/man, building numerous ‘castles’, collecting shells, having lots
of fun with a ball and Frisbee and being re-energized with lunch and ice-creams
the group headed off to explore the Walton’s 793m pier. Candy floss, rides
and a good old-fashioned stroll along the pier were enjoyed before heading
back to the beach for more swimming and chips!
Needless to say the journey home was quieter than the journey there. A great
time was had by all and what a great way to start the summer holidays.
