Around 20 people attended a prayer ministry training event entitled ‘How to Pray for Others’ on Saturday 15th June. At the heart of our church is the desire that individuals have the opportunity to ‘Meet God’, and this happens often through prayer and being prayed for by others. The attendees considered a simple model of praying for others, the importance of simlicity, confidentiality and being aware of the movements of the Holy Spirit in the prayer encounter.
Prayer happens is all sorts of places and times at HBC, including in small groups through the week, through relationships and friendships in the church, and in response to what God is saying to us in our gathered times for worship. Wherever prayer might happen, we want to ensure the wellbeing of all in the church.
There will be follow-up training coming up in the autumn, accessible and useful to every Christian seeking to support others in prayer.
