This week saw our Church Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is the biggest members meeting of the year where a number of important matters concerning the running of the Church are covered.
We elected our Church Officers for the year, who perform important roles in the managing the administrative affairs of the Church and said goodbye to our long standing treasurer who has served faithfully in the role for many years.
We also elected three Deacons. The deacons sit on the leadership team alongside the Church Officers and the Pastors and lead the Church, dealing with a wide range of issues from the spiritual direction of the Church to making sure we have fulfilled all our day to day legal obligations and everything in between. Their appointment is an important decision on where we feel God is leading us as a community for the next few years.
We heard updates on our key policies, which are designed to keep all involved in HBC safe and secure, including the annual reading of the safeguarding policy statement and also an update on the Church finances.
Andrew also gave us an insight into what big decisions the leadership team would be considering over the coming year so that we could all become excited about the future and we took the chance to pray and worship as a community.
If you are a regular attendee of our Church and would like to become a member, please speak with the Church Office. Our intention is to run a membership course in the near future for those wanting more information.
