36 guests and 16 team members came to our Cameo Afternoon on Wednesday 14th February.
On arriving, our guests were served tea or coffee and biscuits and set to work on an Easter word search. Our craft activity was to make calendars with a butterfly outline and the Bible verse “ You must worship the Lord your God; serve only Him” : Matthew 4 v 10b. These we decorated with stickers and some also coloured in.
Dave’s first talk was on Jesus’ temptations during the 40 days in the wilderness.
We then enjoyed a light lunch of 2 flavours of tasty homemade soup cooked by Doreen Spielman with rolls and butter.
Then followed a session of armchair aerobics which all who were able to enthusiastically joined in. Next in our quiz, in groups we compiled A – Z lists of words to do with Shrove Tuesday, Lent, Easter and Springtime.
Afternoon Tea followed with delicious homemade cakes kindly donated by members of the Church fellowship.
Dave’s second thought pointed us to the events of Easter and the reason for Jesus going to the Cross. We sang “When I survey the wondrous cross” and departed for home.
We are very grateful for all the help we received in so many ways, all of which contributed to an enjoyable and blessed afternoon.
